Hey Family Law

The Principal of the Firm, Jerome Hey, has a background in complex property settlement matters involving business interests and corporate structures. Being an Accredited Family Law Specialist and having worked exclusively in family law since admission to the legal profession, Jerome has encountered many different factual scenarios and whilst each case is unique, this specialist knowledge provides you with the best representation.

Jerome and his team have a key focus on the resolution of matters in the absence of drawn out legal proceedings and provide commercial and sensible family law advice on settlement options from the outset. If a matter is unable to settle, we have considerable experience at trial and in the appeals section of the Family Court of Australia.

Our family lawyers have appeared in most jurisdictions throughout Australia and represented many Gold Coast based and interstate clients with matters in Courts throughout Queensland and Australia.

The firm was listed on the 2020 and 2021 Doyles Guide as a Recommended Firm and in 2022 and 2023 as a Third Tier firm in the category Leading Family & Divorce Law Firms Gold Coast.

We are results driven with a key focus on resolution, not inflaming and protracting disputes. You will receive specialised family law advice from our  lawyers with the knowledge to guide you through the family law process delivered in plain English.

Our team are commercially minded and outcome focused.

With extensive Family Court experience, considered to be the last resort, we focus first on resolving the matter without lengthy court proceedings and litigate when the matter calls for it. Unfortunately not every case can settle before Court proceedings are initiated however at each step of the way we remain focused on a cost effective and expeditious outcome.

You will receive open and honest family law advice from experienced lawyers. We tell our clients the truth from the outset, instead of giving our clients unrealistic expectations which inevitably only leads to further conflict.

We will guide and mentor you through your family law matter to make you feel safe and secure and to help you find your new path beyond separation. We understand what people go through when they are separating – the emotions and uncertainty about the future. We accept this is even more difficult where children are involved. Whilst remaining commercially minded, we will help you with our personalised approach and cost-effective methods.
